Prior to Crew Girl, Lin’s track record included co-creating and showrunning Popularity Papers, writing credits on procedural, comedy and sci-fi shows, plus multiple CSA and WGC awards. For this webinar, she will be in conversation with Vancouver showrunner Sarah Dodd (Private Eyes West Coast).

Vivian Lin
Vivian Lin is a the showrunner and co-creator of Crew Girl (Netflix). She is a multi-genre writer-producer who has been nominated for six Canadian Screen Awards and five Writers Guild of Canada Screenwriting Awards. She was the co-creator and showrunner of Popularity Papers (Hulu/YTV/BBC Studios) based on the graphic novel by Amy Ignatow which garnered 10 Canadian Screen Award nominations, including Best Children or Youth Fiction Series. Her previous writing credits include procedurals, sci-fi and comedy, such as The Lake (Amazon Studios); SkyMed (Paramount+), Killjoys (SyFy/Space);Carter (WGN/Sony/Bravo); Hudson & Rex (CityTV); Sight Unseen (CW/Bell) and Private Eyes: West Coast (Corus/Lionsgate).
Sarah Dodd
Sarah Dodd is a BC-based TV writer and showrunner. She is co-creator and co-showrunner of Private Eyes West Coast, premiering on Global and The CW this fall. She was showrunner on season 2 of the critically acclaimed crime series Cardinal for CTV/Hulu/BBC4 and an executive producer on season 4. Her Season 2 premiere episode won the Canadian Screen Award, the Writers Guild of Canada Award, and a Leo Award. She was executive producer and showrunner on Zixx: Level Three (Cartoon Network/YTV) and head writer and producer on The Saddle Club (ABC/YTV). Sarah has written and produced hundreds of hours of television, both hour-long and half-hour, including Allegiance (CBC), Family Law (Global/CW), Ransom (Global/CBS/TF-1), Motive (CTV/ABC/USA), Arctic Air (CBC) and The Border (CBC/ION).
