Alum. Renuka Singh joins RESO’s Export Training Asia Pacific Program

Congratulations to Renuka Singh, (SSL 2020) for being selected as a Producer for RESO’s Export Training Asia Pacific (ETAP) Program, led by Janice Chua. Renuka will be refining her TV project and pitching industry executives from across Asia at the ExNW Summit in Vancouver, which is in collaboration with Gold House.

The project Renuka will be pitching is SHOBA IN THE CITY, a half-hour dramedy series supported by CMF and Bell Media. It follows an Indian student navigating life on the West Coast, exploring the new-wave immigrant experience with humor and levity while addressing current societal issues.

Fast on the heels of their completion of SSL 2024, Ren Maguire is working as a junior story editor for “Chronicles of a Radioactive Girl Scout,” a series created by fellow PSP alum. Helene Taylor, in partnership with Elevation Pictures, and in development with the financial participation of Bell and Creative BC.

We’re thrilled to learn that Kurt Mungal (SSL 2023) is script coordinating in Simon Barry’s room for “Bet,” a live-action adaptation of the Japanese Manga “Kakegurui” series from Boat Rocker Media coming to Netflix.

We are thrilled to learn that Jessie Anthony (SSL 2020) is the Showrunner’s assistant, and has earned an associate producer credit, on the “Snotty Nose Rez Kids” series recently announced by CBC. She was also a story editor in the development room!

Two PSP Alumni in ‘Murder In a Small Town’ Writers Room

Congratulations to Alyssa Aussant, SSL 2022, (development portion Script Coordinator) and Sarah Kelley, SSL 2021 & SDI 2024, (Writers Assistant) for their work on the BC shot crime drama ‘Murder in a Small Town’. Led by Showrunner Ian Wier, the series is based on the Karl Alberg novel series by late Canadian author L.R. Wright. and has been picked up by Fox.
